association unfortunately had to turn away 20 potential contestants. Parents can call the
LHBA at 570-341-7496 or email lhbagentile@aol.com to request a preregistration/
commitment form. A modest fee of $10 is charged to enter the contest.
Once registration forms are processed, children will be notified of the toy log pick up
date. Children will receive a 250+ deluxe set of earth-friendly toy logs provided by
RoyToy of Machias, Maine and will have approximately 5 weeks to design and build
their homes.
This year visitors to the home showcase can cast their ballots for the Best of Show
Award. Proceeds raised from the Best of Show Award will benefit the 9 member
libraries of the Lackawanna County Library System. Joseph O’Connor, chairperson of
the Super Home Showcase said “the LHBA is please to partner with the county library
system. The library will have an exhibit booth at the showcase featuring books related to
the home building industry and will also offer children’s activities. Upon conclusion of
the home showcase and Log On! Contest all toy log homes will be on display at the nine
branches of the Lackawanna County Library System. According to O’Connor, “the
association and library will make every effort to have the toy log homes of each
