tuesday, december 1st

We’re back from Thanksgiving Break, and we hope that everybody had a wonderful, restful few days off!  Now it’s the final push until Christmas, and there is a lot of accomplish between now and then!

In this edition of the Weekly Warrior, you will find some great news from Miss Walsh regarding the school.  There is also a reminder about the ongoing Poinsettia Sale.  Also, as we move into the winter months and the weather begins to get worse, please remember to form an early dismissal plan and go over it with your child(ren), so that everybody knows what to do in the event that the school has to dismiss early due to weather.

Tomorrow Fell Charter will have a special guest: Shannon Doyle, the current Miss Pennsylvania!  Miss Doyle will be presenting to students about the importance of community service, and her own experiences with it as part of her platform.  This presentation will coincide with our ongoing emphasis on Character Education.

turkey dance & volleyball game

Last Wednesday, Fell Charter students and staff participated in a long-standing Fell Charter tradition: the Annual Turkey Dance & Volleyball Game.

Elected representatives from each grade level dressed in classroom-designed turkey costumes and danced in front of the assembled school to see which class would win in categories such as “Cutest Turkey” and “Most Creative.”  Then following the Turkey Dance, the gym floor is cleared, the net strung, and the middle school students take on the staff at volleyball, while the lower grades support a side of their choosing.

This year the staff won the game, 2-1.  But more importantly, it was a great time for all involved!  A huge thank you to Miss Grossman for arranged the morning’s activities, to Miss Muha for providing the music, and to the staff and students who participated and helped make it a day to remember!
