further change in school start date!

Updated Good News!

Great progress is being made in setting up our temporary modular classrooms for the start of this school year!

Unfortunately for us, the contractors are running a bit behind.  We have put pressure on them to make sure that everything is up to Fell’s standards and that is taking some additional time.  We want to make sure that everything is up to speed to start.  That being said, we are making our final adjustment to the start of this school year.

All students, grades Kindergarten through eight, will start school on the 7th of September, and we will have full days for everyone.  This moves school back one week.  We will plan our Open House once school gets back and we get everyone settled.

It will be an eventful and event-filled year at Fell!

See you all on Sept. 7th bright and early for full days!

Does this mean the kids will have no summer next year?

For the time being we must assume that the last week of school is pushed back a week as well. However, this may change after the start of the school year.

No will the first week of school still be all half days or will they all be full days now? Also why were no letters sent to the parents about the start date being pushed back. I fortunately have another family member with children in the school too so she has kept me up to date. But if i didn’t have contact with her…i would have sent my son to school on the 31st like that letter sent to me by his teacher had stated.

The first week of school is entirely full days due to the rescheduling.

Breakfast and lunch will be served the first week. Menus will go home the first day. Unfortunately letters were not an option; the decision was made short-notice and there was no time to prepare or mail letters. As always, our website is always the best place to find out about updates and news at Fell Charter.

I dont understand y the school would end so late in june.. I dont think that the school should punish the kids from not having a long summer cause there r problems with construction.. That would be the Schools problem not the kids..

Plus I would be the one to say thank you for letting all of us know that school was starting on the 7th and not the 31st of aug.. I am so glad that i happened to look at the website for supplies.. NO LETTER NOTHING from the school.. If there is to be improvement from the school is better communication with the parents.. I feel bad for the parents that had no Idea..

The school board made an emergency decision to delay school when it became apparent that the facility would not be ready on time. This decision was made on the Friday before school was to start, which didn’t leave any time for a mailing. Information on the delay was posted immediately to the website, and emailed to the families on our email list. As always, we strongly encourage all our families to use the website as their primary source of information, both for weekly updates (via the online edition of the Weekly Warrior) and for short-notice changes (such as snow days & delays).

We do apologize for any inconvenience and are glad that families are bearing with us; the start may be a bit rocky, but the reward of a brand-new school will make it all worth while!

    Good morning,

I would like to say I am very excited my daughter will be starting at Fell Charter this year. I commend Miss Walsh for her determination and perseverance in enduring countless setbacks and confrontation in the construction of our NEW school. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything my family can do to help make the first week back for the kids an easier transition. Also, I found the website extremely helpful and informative. Thank You and keep up the good work.
