Intramural Basketball
Intramural Basketball is held after school two afternoons a week, from 3:30-4:40 pm. Students learn the basic rules and skills necessary for the game and eventually break into teams for skirmish play. There is also an emphasis on teamwork, peer interaction, and of course a fun and healthy lifestyle. The program is run by 5th grade teacher Jeff Swartwood.
Pep Squad
Pep Squad is an after school activity that takes place during the Spring. It combines aerobics/dance, stretching, and cheerleading in a team environment and is open to girls in grades 5-8. Students learn the basics of cheerleading, including jumping jacks, motions, chants, and cheers. Each practice begins with running laps, cardio activities, and stretching. In May, the Pep Squad organizes and performs at a school-wide Pep Rally, where they show off all that they’ve learned.
