Student Leadership

At Fell Charter, all students in grades 3-8 have the opportunity to participate on the Student Leadership Committee.

Officers and classroom representatives are elected each fall. Interested students campaign for these positions and deliver speeches to the student body. The study body registers to vote and selects from the candidates on “Election Day.” Win or lose, all candidates continue to be a part of the committee by attending monthly meetings and organizing school wide events and community service projects.
Over the years, our Student Leadership Committee has led the school through projects such as:

  • Make cards for the local nursing homes
  • Write letters to deployed soldiers
  • Prepare plaques for the fallen firefighters of Pennsylvania
  • Honor veterans at our annual “Veteran’s Day Assembly”
  • Collect coats, hats and gloves for local families in need
  • Contribute to the “Feed A Friend” Program
  • Participate in “Pasta for Pennies” to benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
  • Hosts dances and fundraisers

Student Leadership Advisors are Heather Rowles and Kevin Bennett

* A written note has to come to school with pick upĀ  arrangements for each participating student. *

Tutoring Program

The Tutoring Program runs multiple sessions each year and provides additional support for students who may be struggling in the areas of English/Language Arts or Math. Invitations to participate are issued by classroom teachers to students who they feel would benefit from the extra help. Sessions are held after school, from 3:30-4:30 pm. Parents are responsible for picking up students after tutoring is completed.

Earth Day

Fell Charter celebrates its commitment to a better, healthier Earth each April with its Annual Earth Day Celebration! Students from all grades participate in a range of activities that includes bird house construction, trash collection, recycling projects, and cleanup of the school grounds. In 2010, students and staff constructed the Fell Charter Nature Patio (currently in storage due to construction).

National Charter School Week

The first week of May is National Charter School Week, and Fell Charter shows its pride with a week-long series of events and activities that help showcase all the elements that make use great!
