4th Grade
Welcome to fourth grade – I hope you brought your passport!
You will also need a mind for math, the skills of a scientist and a passion for Shakespeare!
Our fourth grade year begins by traveling to Ancient Egypt. We investigate the characteristics of this great civilization: writing, architecture, leaders and even build the Great Pyramids. As the year progresses our passport will get stamped in Ancient Greece, Medieval Europe, Renaissance Italy and a young colony that will become known as the United States.

For the math and science minds out there, don’t worry, you will be busy too! Our science curriculum includes a wonderful variety of topics. Yearly projects include mapping your family’s genes and traits, researching the habit and adaptations of your favorite wildlife as well as creating a 3-D outer space presentation.
“All the world is a stage.” That is definitely true in our fourth grade class. To accompany our studies of great Renaissance thinkers, our class tackles the works of William Shakespeare. In the past few years we have read AND produced plays for Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. It is a truly wonderful sight to see the children so excited about classic literature.
Please tour our web site to see photos these and other unique things happening here at Fell Charter.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jill McGurgan
