I want to take this time to remind parents and students that homework is an integral part of the learning process. Homework is assigned on a regular basis and makes up 25% of your child’s final grade.

Homework Policy:

Homework will be assigned on a regular basis. It is a continuation of what has been discussed or learned in class that day. Each homework assignment will be checked and graded. Students will receive 100% for each completed homework assignment and will receive a grade of zero for homework assignments not completed. I do accept late assignments for partial credit. Homework will NOT be accepted more than 3 days after the assignment is due. Please remember all assignments must be completed by the student, should be neat, complete and presented in class the day it is due.

When students are absent, it is the responsibility of the student (or family member) to obtain the missed assignments. Upon return to school, it is the responsibility of the student to meet with the teacher and request clarification of material covered.

Parental/Guardian support of homework is crucial.

Grading Policy:

Students will be held accountable for all grades received.

Homework: (25%)  Homework will be grade on a 0-100% scale

Quizzes: (average as a test grade)  Students will take quizzes in grades K-8. I do give Pop quizzes as well.  Quizzes will be averaged at the end of each quarter and account for one test grade.

Participation: (25%)  Participation is a vital part to second language learning. Participation includes but not limited to the student being prepared, participates in classroom discussions, completes assignments, pays attention and is not disruptive. I remind students that participation is not only physically being in class, but mentally being in class as well.

Tests/Final: (25%)  Students will be tested on information learned each week. Students will be given ample notice prior to all tests and final exams.

Projects: (25%)Projects are a fun and interactive way for students to show what they have learned and an outlet for them to be creative.  Students will be given ample time for projects, some will be done in school, and some will be assigned for home.

Please remember that homework is very important and is weighted equally with Tests, Projects and Participation.
